Architectural Wanderings: An early Sunday morning in downtown Winston-Salem, Part 1

I recently spent a couple of hours early on a Sunday morning strolling around downtown Winston Salem to scout out some buildings that I’d like to shoot in more detail, and just to get my bearings of the city. I only managed to cover part of downtown, so will do a Part 2 walk the next time I’m there. For now, here’s some favorites from my visit:

Center: The Wells Fargo Center, designed by César Pelli.

Right: The old Forsyth County Hall of Justice

The BB&T (Truist) Financial Center, which has sadly remained mostly empty since Truist moved their headquarters to Charlotte in 2020.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Detention Center

The Crest, an event venue on Cherry Street.

That’s all for now. I hope you enjoyed the photos, and look out for the next blog soon!
